Jack Daniels Twice Barreled Special Release Heritage Barrel Rye is a limited edition whiskey that is part of Jack Daniels annual series of special releases. It is slated for release in 2023. Its label was approved by the TTB in March 2023. The whiskey is double-barreled, first aged for at least four years in new, charred American white oak barrels. Afterward, it is finished in Jack Daniels Heritage barrels, which are heavily toasted and lightly charred. It will be bottled at 100 proof. The neck label notes the dates of entry into the first barrel, second barrel, and bottling date, giving fans the complete information about the age of their whiskey. This release is a follow-up to 2022s Twice Barreled Special Release American Single Malt, which was bottled at cask strength and finished in sherry barrels. It is the second rye whiskey in the Special Release lineup, after 2020s Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye.
