Black Dirt Single Barrel Bourbon is produced in the heart of New York’s fertile “Black Dirt” region, known for its rich soil and agricultural heritage. This bourbon is crafted using a mash bill of 80% Black Dirt-grown corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye. It is distilled using a Christian Carl copper-pot still and aged for over two years in new American oak barrels with a #3 char level.
Tasting notes reveal a nose of vanilla, caramel apples, and citrus, followed by a palate that includes toffee, oak, and warm caramel. The finish is long and lingering with touches of wood spices and rye, offering a slightly spicy kick despite its corn-heavy mash bill. Bottled at 90 proof, it provides a smooth but flavorful experience, balancing sweetness with earthy undertones.
