The Woodford Reserve Rare Release Double XO Blend Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is an exclusive release crafted by Master Distiller Chris Morris. Introduced in 2019 - this prized iteration features a marriage of two distinctly aged Woodford bourbons, each matured in newly charred American oak barrels. The first is aged for a minimum of 17 years, and the second at least 7 years. The distillate is then finished in a combination of heavily toasted new American oak barrels and premium XO cognac casks for an undisclosed amount of time. This duel aging methodology imparts an intricately rich profile that showcases aromatic notes of vanilla, caramel, and sticky toffee over a palate of luxurious dark chocolate, orchard fruits, and wisps of smoke.
