Corazón releases special, limited editions of its tequila under the name Expresiones del Corazón. The idea? Age artisanal blanco tequila in barrels that used to hold some of the most prized whiskeys from Buffalo Trace Distillery, a bringing together of the finest artistry in Mexican and American spirits making. This particular Expresiones was aged 19 months in Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye barrels. A pinnacle of agave refinement, this impressive tequila walks gracefully between the spicy, capsicum—pepper quality of its base ingredient and the sumptuous, rich flavors of milk chocolate and vanilla provided by retired whiskey casks. Flavors of toffee, fig cake, and candied fruit are followed by mint, cinnamon, and clove. The long and warm finish reveals subtle notes of allspice, coconut, and nutmeg.
